Alvaro Garrido is the COO, Technology and Operations, and Head of Data and AI of Standard Chartered Group. In his current role, he has group-wide responsibility for technology, operations, cyber and information security, data, and resilience, and plays a key role in driving the bank’s multi-year transformation agenda, including technology modernisation, operational efficiency, and risk and control uplift.
As a senior practitioner with a deep understanding of market dynamics, and having built an extensive career across technology, cyber security, and large-scale transformation in global financial institutions across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, Alvaro knows what it takes to navigate change at scale. In today’s fast-evolving landscape, sustainable change requires an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing, which Alvaro sees CDBG providing. “Through our collective expertise, we can create impactful strategies that drive business growth and elevate industry standards”, he reflects.
